A new cross-continental sound takes shape as Nigerian Afrobeats star Fireboy DML joins forces with South African acts JAZZWRLD and Thukuthela on “IMALI.”
Released on September 15, 2026, the collaboration sees Fireboy explore a more dance-oriented direction while connecting his sound with South Africa’s evolving electronic music scene.
The collaboration arrives as part of the build-up to Fireboy DML’s forthcoming fifth studio album, ZUKO.
“IMALI” also reflects the growing exchange between Nigeria’s Afrobeats movement and South Africa’s dance music culture.
By bringing together Fireboy DML, JAZZWRLD, and Thukuthela, the track creates a meeting point between two influential African sounds while giving the Nigerian star room to experiment with a new direction.
